Zoning Department

Zoning Department and an important part of our town’s infrastructure. This department monitors and manages building activity occurring within the township boundaries, facilitates, and promotes: public health and safety, and the quality of residence, emergency preparedness, the preservation of historic and natural environments, a positive population density, and strong community development. Zoning ordinances are a part of Montour Township, and zoning standards exist to regulate the use of land; existing buildings; as well as the size and location of proposed new buildings or other structures in all districts.

The integration of our zoning standards within Montour Township helps to promote public health and safety, quality of residence, emergency preparedness, preservation of historic and natural environments, positive population density and strong community development.
