Montour Township is pleased to announce that beginning in August, all Township Residents may have access to the Bloomsburg Public Library, free of charge! In the past residents had to purchase a library card. The Township will now be making an annual donation to the library so library cards will now be free of charge! They have many wonderful programs
to offer for children and adults. So stop, in and get your new library card! You will be on the way to enjoying books, movies, internet and many other fun things! Get your new card, compliments of Montour Township and the Bloomsburg Public Library.
45 Day Notice - Comprehensive Plan Update
Montour Township has prepared a comprehensive plan update addressing policies on: Growth, Development and Conservation. The plan focuses on issues of concern to local communities and leadership, while meeting the requirements of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.
The Proposed plan updates - (2016 Comprehensive Plan – draft & 2016 Comprehensive Plan Map Set – draft) are available for review via the links below, and/or by hard copy available at the Township office during regular business hours (Monday through Thursday).
1. The Montour Township Board of Supervisors will hold their Monthly Meetings at the Municipal Building, 195 Rupert Drive, Bloomsburg, PA, on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Work sessions will be held at 7:00 p.m., prior to the Regular Meeting.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FireScience.org, is an organization dedicated to providing career and education information for the Fire Science community. Fire Science Online was founded in 2011 and serves those looking for fire science education and fire safety information. Most recently, the organization broadened its scope to address several public safety and service careers such as homeland security, EMTs, forestry, and criminal justice to name a few. Fire Science is funded by private donations and remains non-commercial and advertisement free.
We have recently launched a Pennsylvania guide focused on providing career and education information, and provide a list of schools and programs from the U.S. federal government National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which contains a database of accredited Fire Science / Prevention / Safety Technology majors.
On the career side, we provide income tables in Pennsylvania for Firefighters, Fire Inspectors / Investigators, and Fire Service Supervisors, discuss fire training, and have a full section dedicated to Public Service Careers - Anyone can access the Pennsylvania guide at:

Located in Columbia County, in the Central Susquehanna River Valley, we are three hours from New York City; two hours from Lancaster and Philadelphia; one and half hours from State College, we are easily accessible from Interstate-80, and State Route 11.
Montour Township is defined as suburban to rural in development, with large areas of agricultural to recreational land use. Bordered by the Susquehanna River and Fishing Creek the Township provides various recreational opportunities, which include fishing, boating, camping, and biking. The Township is within the Bloomsburg school district, which provides educational opportunities from pre-kindergarten to high school, and less than six miles east from the Bloomsburg University Campus, within ten miles of the Geisinger Medical Center in the Borough of Danville, and twelve miles of the Borough of Berwick.
